How we work
If you call our helpline, send an email or fill out our dog enquiry form, you will be speaking with one of our amazing volunteers. If you home a dog, other members of our volunteer team will guide you through the process, match you with a dog and complete homing paperwork with you. Volunteers also run fundraising events, do PR, drive our vans to bring dogs to safety, help with essential admin, update the website, monitor social media… and much more besides!
We are hugely grateful to ALL of our amazing volunteers – without their dedication, passion and commitment, Forever Hounds Trust simply couldn’t exist.

The Board of Trustees is responsible for the governance of Forever Hounds Trust – for the charity’s overall direction, effectiveness and accountability.
In addition to their governance role, each of Forever Hounds Trust’s Trustees has a hands-on voluntary role.
Our Trustees are: Jan Lake (Chair), Peter Stevenson (Honorary Treasurer), Pat Wilder and Ros Hawley.
We have a small central staff team, who work to support all of our regions and to bring them together. Most staff work from home and part-time. Our staff represent a small but essential part of our costs, to ensure the charity is effectively and sustainably managed. Meet the staff team here.
Our Patron and Honorary Friends
Everyone at Forever Hounds Trust is very grateful for the support and encouragement given by our patron, Shirley Watts.
Forever Hounds Trust is further supported by our Honorary Friends who each, in their own way and often privately, provide the charity with guidance, support and expertise. We thank the current Honorary Friends for their support:
