Oliver, an incredibly handsome greyhound with a sleek blue/grey coat and gorgeous amber eyes has been in a desperate search for a home he can call his own, but sadly with no luck so far.
Five year old Oliver is currently enjoying some time in a foster home near Chester, where he has made both human and canine friends and learnt the rules of living in a home.
Oliver is being looked after by recue charity Forever Hounds Trust, and volunteers have been working to help him gain confidence and learn about life as a pet following his retirement from racing. Now it is time for Ollie to find his new home, and the charity are appealing for help to find him his forever home in time for Christmas.
Oliver is more than ready to start his new life as a companion animal. In the time he has been with the charity Oliver has discovered a love of sofas and is often found relaxing upside down with all four legs in the air!
Ollie travels well in the car, is crate trained, sleeps well at night and loves to play, with his favourite toy being a soft green snake.
Emily Burns-Sweeney, Director of Homing and Kennelling for Forever Hounds Trust, says: “Ollie has done so well with our wonderful volunteers who have been caring for him, but he really needs to find a home he can call his own and live the life he deserves. We think he will be best in a home with at least one other dog as he does like some canine company, and although some greyhounds are able to live with cats and other small animals, Ollie isn’t one of them!”
Emily adds: “Christmas is a time when we all like to be at home surrounded by our family, and it’s no different for Oliver. Clearly we would never suggest anyone gets a dog for Christmas, but offering Ollie a home now could see him settled and happy before the festive season really begins.”
Forever Hounds Trust is a charity dedicated to rescuing and rehoming greyhounds and lurchers in need. Oliver is one of many dogs currently in their care that are in desperate need of a home to call their own.
